Thomas Fruhmann
Thomas Fruhmann achieved his first major success in 1977 when he won the Austrian National Championship at the age of 26. He went on to win seven more state championships, with his most recent victory in 1999. In 1990, Fruhmann achieved his first significant international success by winning the CHIO show jumping horse Grandeur in Aachen, making him the first Austrian to claim this title.
However, his greatest career achievement came in 1992 at the Olympics in Barcelona, where he won the silver medal in the men`s jumping event with his horse Genius, alongside Hugo Simon and Jörg Muenzer. Throughout his career, Fruhmann won a total of 32 international tournaments and was crowned champion three times at the Audi Grand Prix in the Wiener Stadthalle.
In 2006, Fruhmann`s horse The Sixth Sense, a Westfalen gelding, was recognized as the best jumping horse in the world by the World Breeding Association.
Born in Vienna in 1951, Fruhmann currently resides in Niederneukirchen, Upper Austria, with his third wife Jacqueline. He has one child from his first marriage and two children from his current marriage.
